Is the next iphone going to be smaller? Bigger? Or maybe cheaper?

Cheaper” is the latest in a series of confusing and seemingly contradictory rumors about the nature of the next iPhone Apple has in store. Today the New york Times chimed in to say that contrary to a previous report in The Wall Street Journal, the next iPhone is not going to be smaller, but Apple is working on ways to make it cheaper and more accessible for buyers.

Apple is focused on making the iPhone attractive to a larger audience, according to the report. That includes offering a phone more easily controlled by voice commands for those who have no interest in or can’t use a virtual keyboard.

As for how the company is considering bringing down the cost of the phone, it wouldn’t be by downsizing the screen. Rather, using cheaper internal components, less memory, or a lower-quality camera are options Apple is considering, according to the Times source who has apparently worked on several iPhone prototypes

Another source says it wouldn’t make sense to make a smaller iPhone because of how it would affect developers who make their apps formatted to a particular screen size. A “senior Apple executive” also tells the Times that Apple isn’t interested in having a lineup of multiple models of iPhones.

It doesn’t sound like a cheaper iPhone is a sure thing yet, just something Apple is thinking about. One thing’s for sure: the next i

Phone isn’t expected until this summer. So anticipate many more months of rumors to come.

The Ghana Music awards organised by charterHouse is on again this year.It is the biggest event in the Ghanaian music Calendar.

2010 was quite an active year for the music industry as artistes like Nana Boroo, Zigi burst on the scene with their

songs becoming instant hits.

The year also had its controversies still putting some of them in the limelight.Artistes like Asem ,Kwaw Kesse, etc had controversial songs.Wether this will turn to awards can never be know until the D-day. With Performances, there has always been the highs and lows of the main event. 2011 is a new year and might just come with its own surprises.

The launch of the 12th edition of the prestigious MTN Ghana Music Awards Festival is scheduled to come off this Friday at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.Friday’s grand launch follows a series of meetings with key industry professionals to set the basis for the awards scheme and compile Nominees list for this year.
Organisers are hammering on the two main categories of this year’s awards, namely: the Public and Industry Categories. With the Public Categories, the general public makes up 30 percent of the decision of who wins what at the awards while the Planning and Selection Committees share the remaining 70 percent.

In the Industry Categories which are more technical and require expertise rather than popularity, the decision on who wins what rests on the Planning and Selection Committees which are made up of industry professionals

Once again, some Ghanaian artistes are going to be awarded for making music last year.

I just hope it is without the usual controversies, but judging by the various categories ,I am guessing there might be.

What on earth is the best rapper award, when there is the hiplife award and afro-pop,anyway I guess I am just a Disc Jockey who knows his music and has predicted Hits and have always been right about it.

The public will vote again,I am sure…will Nana Boroo,Castro,Zigi,Asem, etc win awards? And will Sarkodie,Asem,Kwaw Kesse(who made an international record with Memphis Bleek) vie for the best rapper award? Well, lets see what happens on the said most important awards in Ghana.

In terms of stage craft, performance, design, and the level it will take this time ,will it be able to match up to the various award shows we have all seen either by bootleg or youtube around the world? We all saw the gig Nigeria did last year when MTV decided to have the Airtel awards there…..hmmmm…need I say more?

These are just my ramblings anyway…..I would have said don’t take it seriously but please do ,because we need to elevate always..GH !!

I know you know how it feels when

you really have to type something and nothing comes in your head, well that is how i feel today.

But I am obliged to write something today, because some friends have asked me what I am doing with the words I have stored in my head.

2010 seems to have produced a lot of new and interesting music,I have listened to Rick ross’ new ‘Teflon’ album and I like it, coupled with the fact that it seems to have activated the creativity of Young Jeezy who has also recorded a single……well I need to be on my grind as my much anticipated mixtape needs to be unleashed to hardcore hiphop people worldwide…..ha ha ha ha..

My DC comrade Samini or ‘bateo’ as his close peeps call him also has another song that seems to be moving the crowd these days…’sweet mistake’…well considering the fact that the mini crowd at Rockstone’s office cheer and scream when they hear it.Anyway, let’s see what happens as DBlack also launches his new album………..soon

Join me this weekend as I release a new podcast with exclusive freestyles from old tapes.

Peace

What makes one’s songs and an album so good and hot that everyone wants to play it in their cars, on their ipods and in their stereos?

I know no one goes round with a loudspeaker or a flyer to pronounce  a song play worthy but that inner feeling…something that attracts your ear to the rhythm , composition and melody of a song. It is this feeling or note that pushes some human beings into a world of demi-gods where other humans worship their every creativity.

For 3 weeks I have been in Johannesburg on holidays and experiencing the world cup.I realized that even though there is a structure for arts and musicians to promote their music , everything was central and designed for their market.South Africa boasts to be Africa’s economic power and its media is filled with foreign music, south African and Nigerian music and others…

However one thing that every musician in Africa would want is to have a central place their song in every ear on the globe.Speaking to one of the heads of Sony Music and Kojo Baffoe ,a blogger and my host ,i also realised that for them to attach any importance to a good song and convince people to do so too, that song must have gained enough respect across a region for them to actually follow it,not that they don’t want to,but it had its own promotional acts just like everyone else.

As a DJ ,my ear gets attracted to the ‘oh my ‘ factor, something that calls out my soul at a given point in time, that’s why i would rock you with every genre in the library except metal and acid…that’s going a bit too far for me.

I somehow agree with some of my people who just become fed up and leave the country in search of greener pastures.

By greener pastures, I mean a place where the lights don’t go out every 30 minutes and you still pay high tarriffs.

A place where the taps run all the time.

By greener pastures, i mean a place where you are paid well and on time.

A place where street lights and the roads are good and paying taxes isn’t  a bitch.

A place where law works for everyone and not some people all the time.

A place where people just don’t light fires any where and smoke everyone the fu** out of their rooms and still insult you if you dare complain.

I hope i don’t get too fed up my self and move bag and luggage to this greener pasture.

Sit up,our wise leaders!
